Welcome to our new and improved FPSLabs Price Guides updated December 26th, 2007.
What’s new about these Price Guides you ask? Well instead of simply listing components we recommend, we now briefly explain our decisions to use each and every component and have decided to narrow down the categories for simplicity’s sake. We are not implying that you should follow our price guides verbatim, but we think they are a pretty good foundation on which to begin building a new system.
Technologically speaking, we’ve transition to the latest gaming inspired chipset platforms from both Intel and AMD and have also chosen to go quad-core whenever possible. Our entry level system primarily aims toward building a budget conscious gaming system as far under $1000 as reasonably possible. Midrange systems offer an excellent mix of price and performance at under $1500 and High End stretches the limit to $2500+ for the best gaming experience money can buy. So go ahead, take a look, and let us know what you think. Please note that all prices are accurate as of today, do not include taxes, and may have changed since published. All prices are taken from NewEgg.com so you may find a better deal somewhere else!
