The highly successful Eee PC is coming to a store near you. ASUS has been selling the Eee like Aquafina in the desert. People seem to really love the original versions which were sold with Xandros Linux.
The latest model to come out of the ASUS camp is a new Windows XP variant. Over at Bestbuy’s website they have the new model for $399.99 featuring a Celeron M processor. This is the same price as the Linux version which seems a bit odd as generally the Window’s licensing fee would bring the cost up.
Have any of you bought one of these? Personally I don’t really see the point over a small laptop around the same price. The only benefit it has is size and portability, but I would prefer the laptop 15/17″ screen myself and a full fledged notebook. Obviously people seem to like the size however as they have been selling quite well.
Thanks to the crew at DailyTech for the heads up.

Only reason I would get a laptop is for mobility, and therefore would get whatever is cheapest and best. So I would probably like a normal laptop over this because of the similar price and better specs. However, I think I would be able to get a free one from family before I ever feel the need to buy my own.lol.
