On the going-on’s at FPSLabs: We’re all still here. We sympathize with those of you who have been missing the daily updates on the site, and we aim to get back in the rhythm here in the very near future. However, in our defense, news has been pretty damn slow lately. Also, regarding the “monthly” gamer giveaway: there are prizes to give away! We just need to choose some winners. Unfortunately, our last attempt to find a user who met the criteria using the random selection method proved pretty fruitless. What does that mean? YOU GUYS ARE NOT POSTING TOO OFTEN. We will be hand selecting a couple of winners and sending out the prizes for this round. Get on the ball for next month.

Introducing a new series
At FPSLabs, we’ve always been all for producing unique content regardless of whether or not it was really that great of an idea. Luckily for us, most of our ideas have been pretty successful, with recurring columns like “What’s in YOUR Tower?” and “Games We Play” consistently drawing heavy interest. Well, now we are going to start up a new series called “gLANce”.

To put it simply, gLANce will be a new series that consists of evaluations of local LAN centers. We have a set of questions to ask to employees of various LAN centers that we visit, we take pictures, we play games, and afterwards we spit out our thoughts about the whole experience. For now we will stick to mostly Southern califoIt’s a pretty simple idea and we realize that the interested audience for each LAN center will vary in size depending on the individual location; but we think it is going to be pretty well received. Expect the first edition of this series to debut in the next couple of days.
