The Razer Salmosa site www.speedofthelight.com went live today. Check out Razers new compact gaming mouse.

There is a new gaming mouse on the block from Razer. The Razer Salmosa is an attempt to capture the entry level compact mouse market which really doesn’t see a whole lot of attention.

The mouse is smaller, and doesn’t feature side buttons and is ambidextrous. It is super light weight, and features the 1800dpi 3G optical engine.

Specifications wise this is what we have:

  • 1800dpi Razer Precision™ 3G infrared sensor

  • 1000Hz Ultrapolling / 1ms response time

  • Mechanical dpi/polling rate switches

  • On-The-Fly Sensitivity™ adjustment

  • Always-On™ mode

  • Ultra-large non-slip buttons

  • 16-bit ultra-wide data path

  • 60-120 inches per second

  • Three independently programmable Hyperesponse™ buttons

  • Ambidextrous design

  • Scroll wheel with 24 individual click positions

  • Zero-acoustic Ultraslick™ Teflon feet

  • Seven-foot, lightweight, non-tangle cord

  • Approximate size: 115mm (length) x 63mm (width) x 37mm (height)

This isn’t my style per say but it has the potential to be a solid mouse. Could be great for on the go gaming, or mobile computing. I would probably be lost without my side buttons but there are others out there who probably wouldn’t even notice them.
