Patriot Memory kicks it up a notch with new Corsair Dominator look-a-likes
[ArticleAdvert]
Via Fudzilla: “Patriot Memory has launched a new Viper series of
memory modules. The new and improved heatsink design will find its way
on DDR2 and DDR3 extreme performance line of gaming memory.
The Viper heatsink is made from an aluminum-copper composite (ACC).
According to Patriot’s press release new Viper have fins that are
designed to have special heat corners to increase surface area which
should result in 90 per cent faster heat dissipation. When compared to
standard Patriot bladed heat spreaders, new Viper cooled memory modules
are 20 percent cooler.“
Arguing about whether or not heatsinks on RAM are worth it these days doesn’t really matter since most enthusiast ram comes with the stuff anyway. I would like to stress that the more exotic solutions look nice but unless you’re going nuts with overclocking it probably won’t do a difference.
