Northbridge running hot? Want to save on power? MSI may have the answer.
MSI is set to introduce a new northbridge cooler featuring powerless operation. The fan functions with a piston which rises from the northbridges heat causing the fan to turn, and then the piston falls as the fan cools down the air inside the piston. This process of course repeats itself keeping the fan spinning as needed all without any power connection.

The cooler is expected to show up at CeBit next week but there are no details at this point if it will be a retail product or what kind of price it may carry. The techPowerUp lables this as a CPU cooler, but if you check the images you can clearly see it is a northbridge cooler.
Just from a looks perspective this cooler is quite sharp. I know the northbridge fan is the loudest fan on my rig and often I have to turn it down to half speed. I am curious to know if it is possible or in the works to cool a CPU with something like this.
