The latest and semi greatest from Nvidia is on the way and should be in stores now. The follow up to the 8800GTX, little sibling of the 9800GX2, is being reviewed all over the net today. Check out some of our choice reviews as we haven’t had a chance to toy around with this yet.

The card features the G92 core and a price tag of $299.99, 512MB of RAM and a 675MHz core speed with 1100MHz memory speed. The general consensus seems to be a big “meh”. The card isn’t bad by any means it just isn’t fantastic. It doesn’t beat the 8800GTX by much, sometimes even losing to it. The 3870×2 is faster also. Basically it is a cheaper 8800GTX with a 8800GTS 512MB core.
The 9800GX2 showed a much bigger performance gap over the last gen, this is more of a price reduction than anything. It seems many people are content to wait for the next new chip from crew at Nvidia.

I don’t know if this is the real look of the card, but on the pic it looks sweet.
