The first and second tests are done, and Mark from XS/OCForums demolished the competition in SuperPI with a 1M score of 8.172s. This doesn’t come close to the world records, which is somewhere below 7.5s. This score was good enough to give mark 8 points, which is 3 points up on blogger Chris Morrell who came in second place with 8.281s.
Unfortunately Mark was unable to put up an equally impressive result in the second test, Aquamark03, where he had some motherboard problems and ended up freezing the capacitors (which can happen when your CPU is chilling at -140C). The winning score in Aquamark was 288,524, which came from Ross (OCForums/XS), with Jeremy and Fugger coming in at a close second and third, respectively.
Standings at the moment have Ross in the lead with 11 points (he got third in SuperPI for a score of 3 points), Mark at 8, and a two way tie for third with Chris and someone else tied at 5 points.
3DMark01 and 3DMark06 are next, and we should see most of the people breaking out GPU LN2 blocks for these more graphic intensive benchmarks. We’ve got more pictures on the way.
