Yet another day at our second, more boring DigitalLife show. Saw lots of cool things.

[[ ADVERTISEMENT=34 ]]Today is Friday, September 28 2007 and the second day of DigitalLife has come to a close. I overheard some other members of the press discussing this and I have to agree that this year the show is much more tame and much more, for lack of a better word, boring.

Last year, we had crazy things going on like MLG tournaments, Napster’s naughty booth, Maxim’s VIP area, Ageia’s big booth, and even AMD showed up, Blu-ray made a showing, Antec announced some things, and I interviewed Voodoo’s Ravi Sood. To be honest, there has been quite a bit going on, but it would seem that the vibe isn’t quite there. I am not sure how to explain it, but there is typically a buzz of excitement to go along with the large booths and a big showing of technological might from small and large companies alike. This year it would seem that companies decided to play it cool, slim back the booth size and go with a little less pizzazz. Yes, there are exceptions, but the majority of the show just feels smaller and quieter.

Despite all this, there isn’t a lack of things to talk about. Today, I took a look at the Sidewinder mouse for a second time. Stopped by a company called Xyber Technologies that is creating entirely passive cooling computers for a silent solution. The PMS clan was pimping HP’s new Blackbird computer which is a bad ass elevated machine. Dell was showing off the M1730 in their booth, which is the first notebook to feature the mobile PhysX processor from AGEIA. GGL was being loud and obnoxious with poor musical performances and a lack of SourceTVs for our eSports fans. Last, but not least I had an awesome meeting with some gentlemen from Gateway.
