It’s not often you get to reinvent yourself. Today, we’ve done just that. Welcome to the new and improved FPSLabs!

For those of you who haven’t heard the great news, please read the announcement at GotFrag.

First, I would like to extend a warm and gracious welcome to our users both old and new. To our faithful readers during the last couple years, we dedicate FPSLabs V2 to you. Your support and dedication have made this site what it is today and without you we would be nothing. To our new readers, there is no better time to discover FPSLabs and we welcome you to the fold. This is a landmark day for both our readers and our staff. Welcome to the independent FPSLabs.

Over the past month countless hours have gone into transferring our immense amount of unique content to the new site. Thomas Gribble, Jason Krueger and Oscar Meade have been slaving to make sure that as much of the content was moved before launch as humanly possible. Stu Grubbs has been working on 4 hours of sleep per day for weeks to make sure that version 2 of FPSLabs was everything we wanted it to be. Open-source code, custom software and modifications have made the site you see before you. Not every feature has been implemented, but we are looking forward to launching new and exciting features over the coming year. During your exploration of the new site, you may encounter a few bugs and run into some problems, hence the “beta” stamp up on our logo. I ask that you please send any information on your problems directly to our staff and we will be sure to address them promptly.

Enough of the bullshit, let me introduce you to some of the fantastic features this new site has to offer…
The front page is completely different from before. The news section has been expanded to included intro statements and has been placed in a more prominent location on the front page. A slide-show will emphasize our latest reviews and our slightly older reviews will appear just below that in text form. The community aspect of the site has been emphasized through an incredible profile system allowing you to add friends, display your computer specs, tell a little bit about yourself, comment on other profiles, quickly message other users, and much more. Integrated with the profile system is a forum system that is packed with features previously unavailable at our old site. An expansive, AJAX comment system spans our site allowing you to not only comment on our reviews and features, but the staff-maintained tech blog as well. Galleries are completely different, allowing you to quickly search for pictures, rate the photos, comment on individual pictures instead of just the entire gallery, and display EXIF data for those of you that dig that.

Everything that you have to come to expect out of FPSLabs such as the price guides, glossary, support forums, and unique content will remain intact and up to date. With a new site underneath us, a brand new look and name, and the same dedicated staff, we will continue to bring you the best there is in gamer technology news and reviews.
We belong to no one, we answer to no one, we write for no one but you, our community.

Welcome to the Independent FPSLabs.

Yours in truth, tech, and integrity,

The FPSLabs Team
